Sometimes we have those months, weeks and days where it’s just impossible to feel happy. That’s ok, we all experience it, sometimes a little more than we’d like to so here I am bringing to you 9 ways to be happier today.

Some of these may work wonders for you, whilst some may not. Never the less, they will most certainly help.

  1. It’s important to remember that this will certainly pass. To keep it in your head that you’re forever going to feel like way is going to keep it there. Know that you’re more than capable of turning things around and try turning that negative thought you have into a positive one.
  2. Start your day fresh! Get a shower or a bath and effectively wash off the feelings of unhappiness. It will certainly give you an instant uplift.
  3. Exercise, Whether it be a walk or an actual work out it will get your endorphins going which will release chemicals to keep you feeling happier.
  4. Is there anything really better for your body than fresh air? It helps you feel better getting that clean fresh air through your airways. Why don’t you take a moment and enjoy your coffee outside, take in the surroundings and think about all the things you have gratitude for.
  5. Declutter as much as you feel that you need to. For me, I like to declutter my phone and rooms that I find myself in. We spend so much time on our phones and it’s easy to clutter them up.
  6. Indulge in something that you enjoy doing the most. For me, I love to create, whether that be drawing, painting or photographing. I just love to let all my feelings flow out of my fingertips in some way or another.
  7. Stop pressuring yourself or allowing others to pressure you. Don’t worry about other people are thinking.
  8. Plan a trip or something to look forward to. It will help you to keep your spirits that little bit brighter.
  9. Change what makes you unhappy. The probability of one of the (if not all) the things that are making you unhappy is easily changeable. Evaluate and make changes wherever necessary.
