Meet Winston The Cat // This Week We…
Welcome back to another weekly chat on this miserable Monday. I am currently writing this up on the day just before I go to my consultant appointment about my c-section in 2 weeks time. Minnie has been poorly this week, giving us more than one fever to deal with. Other than that, let’s meet Winston the cat. (poet over here.)
Meet Winston The Cat
Ok, so let’s start with Winston. I’ve been wanting a 3rd cat ever since we lost Tod the night before my c-section with Minnie. I didn’t just want any old cat though. I’ve had my heart set on finding a tortoiseshell one. One never came up, not close enough for us to get it anyway. I’ve looked every week for about a year now for a kitten and this week one finally came up and was only 9 minutes away from home. I snapped him up and he is the most beautiful, playful little fluffy bundle of joy we all definitely needed right now.
Minnie has also been really poorly this week. She’s had a fever for 3 of the nights and then we noticed spots coming on her arms and mouth. It turns out she’s caught hand foot and mouth off of my brother. The most annoying part is that with this illness you’re mostly contagious 5 days before symptoms become apparent so it wasn’t something that could have been avoided. She’s coming out the other side now though, once the spots come out, you’re practically on the mend.
We did manage on a day where Minnie wasn’t feeling too poorly to get out on a dog walk to Chambers wood farm. We haven’t been able to take the dogs on a walk for a while because Noah had grown out of his harness and we just hadn’t had the time to get him a new one, now we got him a new one, we decided to let Minnie take the dogs on a walk – she only walked Noah because Noah is the best behaved out the two.
Minnie also went for her first sleepover. My mum had her for us overnight as a trial run if you like for when I go into hospital to have our son. I’m pretty sure as well that my mum was fretting way more than I was at this point but everything turned out fine and dandy, especially as Minnie was under the weather too.
